What AetherMail does, and why it asks for your data

AetherMail is a webmail client — like Outlook or Apple Mail, but running in your browser. It doesn't host your email itself (unless you create a free @aetherportal.ink address); instead, it connects to a mail account you already have and lets you read, organize, and send mail from it.

When you choose "Sign in with Google" to link a Gmail account, AetherMail requests permission to read, send, and manage mail in that account (via IMAP/SMTP) — solely so it can display your inbox, folders, and messages inside the app, and send mail on your behalf when you compose something. That access is never used for advertising, profiling, or anything beyond operating the mailbox you asked it to connect to, and it's never sold or shared with third parties. You can revoke it at any time from AetherMail's account settings or directly from your Google Account permissions page.
